Ninja price india : Rs 2.69 lakh

Pune, Oct. 7 Two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) has launched the Kawasaki Ninja 250R.
The much awaited Ninja 250 in India with a technical specs of the bike include a 249 cc 4 stroke 32 bhp engine which is liquid cooled with a claimed fuel mileage of 42.5 Kpl. Imported from Thailand, the spare parts will be imported from Thailand and Japan.

It will be available in racing green and black, and priced at Rs 2,69,970 (ex-showroom) in Delhi and Rs 2,69,580(ex-showroom) in Chennai. The company is expecting the sale of at least 1000 units in this year and have already started the assembling of the same.

The ninja is world known for its style, power and appealing looks. The other bike manufacturers will have to prepare for some tough competition in the high end performance two wheeler segment.

As far as im concerned for 3 lac rupees...it feels costly ! prices were somewhere rumored around 1.5-2.0 lac before launch.
As always, Indians are used to paying premium over anything bought here & definitely there will be fanatics who would spend for the same ! bajaj should decrease the prices in a couple of months!

I think comparing this to the new Karizma is rather stupid - this is a different class and breed of machine. What's painful is that compared to even the Comet (another 250cc twin w/ around the same amount of power), it costs over a lakh more. I've got the Yam R15, and while Bajaj's pricing looks more like they'd rather sell their own Pulsars than the Ninja, even Yamaha isn't pricing their products cheap. Think about it. Even if Yamaha or Honda come out with their 250 now, I have this rather uncomfortable feeling they're gonna price it similarly or worse...

How can you all assume that the bike was gonna be around 2 or less than 2.5LAc, its your mistake, for hyping your dreams with your own tag price.Dont compare the CC, this bike is was more powerfull than 220c pulsar or evn karizma. This 250CC is enough to leave all indan bike way behind!!I will say this bike is worth each and every penny, so if you have complaint about it, then go F*** urself!!!Proud of bajaj to launch the beginner elite class" NINJA!! "

I think this is a radical step in the history of Indian motorcycling. We are well on our way to biking haven as more players will get into this segment to compete with one another getting bigger and better bikes. I dont know why everyone is complaining. If you got the moolah go for it, else buy a Bajaj Chetak or Super maybe :-)

Launch Date Declared !!! OCTOBER 7th 2009

Bajaj Auto Ltd is all set to launch the Kawasaki Ninja 250R motorcycle in India on October 5. The Ninja 250R is considered to be an entry-level sports bike manufactured by Japanese two-wheeler maker Kawasaki. The bike would be priced between Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 2 lakh.

There has been a lot of speculation about the launch of the Ninja and now finally the launch is happening. If brought in with minimal changes from its international configuration, expect a proper cracker of a 250cc motorcycle. The international model sports Kawasaki's Unitrak suspension, a 250cc liquid cooled parellel twin engine and if Bajaj keep the tinkering to a minimum, you should be rubbing your hands in glee.

The bookings would start just ahead of Diwali and the deliveries would happen immediately, Bajaj Auto MD Rajiv Bajaj stated. He added that a new version of Pulsar would also be launched within three months.

The company, which saw a sharp dip in sales last financial year, seems to be coming out of the slump. It is selling more than 250,000 motorcycles a month (including exports). This is a huge jump from the 110,000-unit figure almost a year ago. The jump in sales has resulted in the two-wheeler manufacturer facing a capacity shortage.

We are experiencing production shortage in case of Discover and Pulsar motorbikes, as sales of these two models are jointly expected to hit 130,000 units this month. The availability of tyres for these vehicles is under pressure. This has created a certain waiting period for these two models," Bajaj added.

ATTENTION: Bajaj has confirmed that the bike will be publicly launched on October 7. The internal launch will happen on October 5, with the dealer launch on October 6.

Ninja - here it comes !

The most eagerly awaited bike and also India's first true-blue quarter-litre motorcycle, the Ninja has a lot riding on it in order to propel the Indian two-wheeler industry towards large capacity performance-oriented motorcycles. Equipped with cycle-parts usually seen on large capacity superbikes, the Ninja 250R will offer Indian bikers a taste of superbike performance. This bike was shown by Bajaj Auto at the 2007 Auto Expo in New Delhi and back then it created quite a lot of stir in the Indian market.

After almost two years of wait, finally the Ninja 250R is all set to make its debut at Bajaj Auto's Akurdi plant next week. There are no technical changes made to the Ninja 250R and it will be imported from Thailand as Completely Knocked Kits (CKD). The bikes will be assembled at the Bajaj Auto's Chakan plant and they will be sold through the elite ProBiking showrooms across major cities. The only visible changes on the bike include a matte-black exhaust pipe and the black-coloured rear tail unit with a green pillion seat, unlike the black tail unit seen on the international model.

Bajaj Auto has been highly secretive about the bike's pricing and it is very difficult right now to quote the correct pricing. However, since it is a CKD import, the duties slapped on the Kawasaki will be lesser in comparison to duties levied on direct a CBU import - which means that the Ninja won't be exorbitantly priced for India.
